Machu Picchu and Cusco: 7 Days

Pickup from the Cusco airport or bus terminal and transfer to your hotel for check-in. In the afternoon, a city tour through the archaeological heart of the city: the Qorikancha (Temple of the Sun, about 45 minutes), and the sites in the upper part of Cusco: Sacsayhuaman, Q'enqo, Puka Pukara and Tambomachay. The day ends at approximately 7:00 pm, with the evening free to acclimatize to Cusco's altitude (3,400 masl).

Pickup at 8:00 am, with a trip of about 1.5 hours to the Pisac ruins, where breakfast is served before touring its agricultural terraces. It continues to Urubamba, the capital of the Sacred Valley, with buffet lunch, and ends in Ollantaytambo with a 1 hour guided visit to the Temple of the Sun, the Intihuatana and the Inca terraces. From there you board the scenic train to Aguas Calientes, where you spend the night.

Breakfast at the hotel and bus up to the citadel (about 20 minutes). Guided excursion of 2 hours and 30 minutes through the agricultural and urban sectors, the Temple of the Sun, the Intihuatana and the Temple of the Condor. Lunch on your own in Aguas Calientes and return train to Cusco in the afternoon, via Ollantaytambo.

Pickup at 8:00 am. First stop at Chinchero, with its traditional weaving workshops. It continues to the Maras Salt Mines, more than 3,000 salt pools fed by an underground spring since pre-Inca times, and then to Moray, terraced circular depressions up to 30 meters deep with a temperature difference of up to 15°C between the top and bottom terraces. Return to Cusco at approximately 2:00 pm.

Pickup from 4:00 to 4:30 am and transfer to Cusipata (3,310 masl) for breakfast. From Llaqto, a hike of about 1 hour and 30 minutes to the Vinicunca viewpoint (5,080 masl), with free time for photos before the descent. Buffet lunch in Cusipata and return to Cusco between 4:00 and 5:00 pm.

Pickup from 4:30 to 5:00 am and private transfer to Mollepata (breakfast, approx. 2.5 hours) and then to Soraypampa (3,900 masl). A hike of 1.5 to 2 hours to Humantay Lake (4,200 masl), with free time before the descent. Lunch in Mollepata and return to Cusco at approximately 7:00 pm.
