About this activity

The Sacred Valley VIP tour covers five key points of the Sacred Valley of the Incas: Chinchero, Moray, the Maras Salt Mines, Ollantaytambo and Pisac, with transport, guide and buffet lunch included, in a more complete format than the standard valley circuit. Pickup is between 6:00 and 6:30 am, with return to Cusco between 6:30 and 7:30 pm.

It’s the most complete version of the classic Sacred Valley tour, designed for travelers who want to see, in a single day, both the most representative archaeological sites (Moray, Ollantaytambo, Pisac) and the Maras Salt Mines and the Pisac craft market, with a more personalized service than the standard group tour.

Itinerary

Day 1

Chinchero, Moray, Salt Mines, Ollantaytambo and Pisac

Pickup from your hotel in Cusco is between 6:00 and 6:30 am. The first stop is Chinchero (3,762 masl), a colonial town built on Inca foundations, with its traditional weaving workshops showing the spinning and natural dyeing process using alpaca fiber. Visit of about 45 minutes.

From Chinchero, the group continues to Moray, the Inca experimental agricultural center of terraced circular depressions up to 30 meters deep, where the temperature difference of up to 15°C between the top and bottom terraces allowed different microclimates to be simulated. Visit of about 45 minutes.

The next stop is the Maras Salt Mines: more than 3,000 salt pools terraced along a hillside, fed by an underground spring active since pre-Inca times. Visit of about 30 to 45 minutes.

The group then travels to Urubamba, the capital of the Sacred Valley, where buffet lunch is served.

In the afternoon, the visit continues in Ollantaytambo, the only Inca town still inhabited with its original urban layout, and which was the main site of Inca military resistance during the Spanish invasion. You'll walk through the fortress and its terraces. Visit of about 1 hour.

The last stop is Pisac, with its archaeological complex of agricultural terraces, aqueducts and Inca roads, and its traditional craft market. Visit of about 1 hour.

The tour ends with the return to Cusco, arriving at your hotel between 6:30 and 7:30 pm.
